The General’s Challenge
Ray Davis 4-Star General
US Marine Corp., Retired
Dear American Veterans,
Your help is desperately needed. It is needed to help carry out a most important national program. A program to turn our nation away from it’s destructive course. I have chosen a title or moto, “ABOUT FACE AMERICA”. Our nation needs to do an “about-face” and return to ideals and goals requiring our surrender to standards widely accepted as proper.
My personal request to you is to take charge in your local area:
1. Extend the challenge
2. Locate support groups
3. Involve all veterans, civic leaders, law enforcement groups, churches, and neighborhoods.
4. Get out the vote
5. Challenge the domestic enemies
As veterans, we each took an oath, “To defend the United States and it’s Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, so help me God”. We have carelessly allowed many domestic enemies loose in our beloved country.
* Spending at our national level is out of control with a 6 trillion dollar debt – a diaster for our children.
* Taxes taking half our income for decades to come.
* Our culture is being destroyed by Hollywood, rockers, and rappers, aided and abetted by the news and entertainment media.
* Drug culture is destroying the minds and bodies of our youth, even adults.
* Education is failing – we lag behind leading nations of the world.
* Family values are being desecrated.
* Ethics and morality are given little consideration.
* Our armed services are being downsized. In this country a lack of readiness has cost lives, many, many lives.
The Solution:
All 27 million veterans, plus those in service, must join with their families and friends to work together to lead our nation in a new direction based on these themes:
Freedom is not free
Strength brings peace
Readiness secures freedom and saves lives
Upgrade our culture
Why veterans?
Because Veterans are a National treasure.
Because they have the numbers needed to make a difference.
Because they have served our nation with honor, loyality, and patriotism.
Because they possess a special dedication based on their service.
Because they display special service in family and community affairs.
Because a strong cohesiveness has developed through service.
Those of Christian persuasion read from the scripture, “My brothers, you were called to be free”, which undergirds a belief that freedom is the noble cause of humankind. Those who loyally serve freedom enjoy a great strength forged in a crucible of torment and heroic sacrifice. In our liberty, which our God has provided us, should He not expect, even demand of us, to serve as good stewards in the cause of freedom throughout the world. “Long may our land be bright with freedoms holy light.”
This century’s cost to our nation’s freedom has been extreme. Visit our veterans hospitals and national cemeteries from time to time and cherish the memory of those represented by the hundreds of acres of white crosses and markers there. Those represent the high cost of the freedom we enjoy.
That great patriot, Patrick Henry set the pattern for us. “Give me liberty or give me death”. We cannot protect freedom with a halfhearted commitment. “Liberty or Death” means a total commitment to victory!
To the veterans of America, I challenge each of you, and I would indeed be most grateful if you help make this program succeed, and we will have a better America.

Help fight

This is how General George S. Patton would sum things up.... and
then catch holy hell from Ike.
He sure had a unique way of expressing his thoughts.

To ALL those whining, panty-waisted, pathetic Citizens, it's time for a little refresher course on exactly why we Americans occasionally have to fight wars to keep this nation great.

See if you can tear yourself away from your "reality" TV and Starbucks for a minute, pull your head out of your ass -- and LISTEN UP!!

Abu Ghraib is not "torture" or an "atrocity." This is the kind of thing frat boys, sorority girls, and academy cadets do every year. A little fun at someone else's expense.

Certainly no reason to wring your hands or get your panties in a wad.

Got that?

THIS IS an atrocity!

So Was This!!!

And this!

Islam a peaceful religion? My Ass! Millions of these warped misled sons-of-bitches are plotting, as we speak, to destroy our country and our way of life any way they can. Some of them are here among us now.

They don't want to convert you and don't want to rule you. They believe you are a vile infestation of Allah's paradise. They don't give a shit how "progressive" you are, how peace-loving you are, or how much you sympathize with their cause.

They want your ass dead, and they think it is God's will for them to do it.

Some think if we give them a hug or listen to them, then they'll like us, and if you agree -
Then you are a pathetic dumb ass!

If they manage to get their hands on a nuke, chemical agents, or even some anthrax -- you will wish to God we had hunted them down and killed THEM while we had the chance.

How many more Americans must be beheaded? You've fallen asleep AGAIN - get your head out of your ass! You may never get another chance!

NOW GET OFF YOUR SORRY ASS and pass this on to any and every person you give a damn about - if you ever gave a damn about anything!

Let us always remember..
All Americans should be given this lesson...
Meaning of Flag Draped Coffin

All Americans should be given this lesson. Those who think that America is an arrogant nation should really reconsider that thought. Our founding fathers used GOD's word and teachings to establish our Great Nation and I think it's high time Americans get re-educated about this Nation's history. Pass it along and be proud of the country we live in and even more proud of those who serve to protect our 'GOD GIVEN' rights and freedoms.
I hope you take the time to read this... To understand what the flag draped coffin really means... Here is how to understand the flag that laid upon it and is surrendered to so many widows and widowers.

Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776?
Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times? You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we learn something new every day!
The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life.
The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life.

The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world.

The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.

The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, 'Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong.'

The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie. It is with their heart that They pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America and the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that they protect their country and their flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of their republic.
The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day.

The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers. For it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.
The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first born.
The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christians eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.

The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are! uppermost reminding them of their nations motto,'In God We Trust.'
After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy today.
There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning. In the future, you'll see flags folded and now you will know why.
Share this with the children you love and all others who love what is referred to, the symbol of ' Liberty and Freedom.'

A Secret War in 120 Countries
The Pentagon’s New Power Elite
"Right now, he emphasized, U.S. Special Operations forces were approximately as large as Canada’s entire active duty military. In fact, the force is larger than the active duty militaries of many of the nations where America’s elite troops now operate each year, and it’s only set to grow larger.
Americans have yet to grapple with what it means to have a “special” force this large, this active, and this secret "...Navy Admiral Eric Olson
Political deeds and misdeeds and by whom.
By Aaron Cantor
A new report just generated by the Congressional Budget Office at the request of Steny Hoyer, the former House Majority Leader, (the mid-term election took care of that), is trying to say that military personnel are paid more than approximately 75% of government workers.
Some folks are using the CBO report to support the argument that the military is paid too much, specifically, the report states that the “median for enlisted personnel in 2010 exceeded cash compensation for most federal civilian employees with a high school degree and perhaps some college education.” In addition, the report’s author writes, “median cash compensation for enlisted personnel was at least as high as the 75th percentile of earnings for federal workers with comparable work experience.” The findings were similar for military officers when compared to their counterparts.
A Congressman works approximately 93 days PER YEAR, at the rate of 8 hours a day that comes to around 744 hours per year for which you are paid the princely sum of $180K per year (plus perks the kind GIs will never see), so let’s see now $180,000.00 divide by 744 = $ 241.94 per hour.
You couldn’t begin to live on military pay even for a month.
In all my years in uniform I never met any GI commissioned or enlisted who was compensated on such a grand scale.
Further Mr. Hoyer, I would be willing to bet you, and that gaggle of idiots you work with don’t work Federal Holidays or overtime to any great extent either.
What was your reason for requesting this little study, was it to try and generate some ammunition to call for a military pay freeze once again?
GIs don’t have the luxury of looking at their watch and saying it is past five o clock, time to go home, they stay till the job gets done no matter how long it takes, and they aren’t munching down on a steak in some fancy D.C. eatery either, try Afghanistan or some other flea infested hell hole, living in a tent and eating MREs and wondering if their family is surviving (many of whom are on food stamps), yes GIs are really overpaid.
I notice that you went straight from Georgetown Law School (where you were a member of Sigma Chi fraternity) straight into politics never having served in the Military I guess you figured yours was a better way to milk the system.
Your first job in the world of politics was, if memory serves,  from 1962 to 1966, as a member of the staff of United States Senator Daniel Brewster (D-Maryland); also on Senator Brewster’s staff at that time was Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Some of that lunacy must have rubbed off on you.
We who made a career of military service did so out of love and commitment to our country (you know that old phrase “DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY”).
No one held a gun to our head and forced us to take the oath, ours is an all volunteer force, but I tell you straight up, if those who wore the uniform before us were alive to see what you and your ilk have done and are continuing to do to our country, they would cry, but while they were crying, they would be inserting a 10DD GI boot in your rear end as they ran you out of town.
We put up with a lot from you feather merchants but mister you are coming awfully close.

"How many steps
does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns" ----
This is really an awesome sight to watch if you've never had the
chance. Very fascinating.
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
1. How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the
tomb of the Unknowns and why?
21 steps: It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute
which is
the highest honor given any military or foreign dignitary.
2. How long does he hesitate after his about face to begin his
return walk and why?
21 seconds for the same reason as answer number 1
3. Why are his gloves wet?
His gloves are moistened to prevent his losing his grip on the
4. Does he carry his rifle on the same shoulder all the time
and, if not, why not?

He carries the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb. After
his march across the path,
he executes an about face and moves the
rifle to the outside shoulder.

5. How often are the guards changed?

Guards are changed every thirty minutes,
twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.
6. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?
For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, he must be
between 5' 10' and 6' 2' tall and his waist size cannot exceed
They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks
under the tomb,
and cannot drink any alcohol on or off
duty for the rest of their lives.
They cannot swear in public for the rest
of their lives
and cannot disgrace the uniform or the
tomb in any way.
After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on
their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb.
There are only 400 presently worn. The
guard must obey these rules
for the rest of their lives or give up the wreath pin.
The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the
heat and cold from their feet.
There are metal heel plates that extend to
the top of the shoe in order to make the loud
as they come to a halt.
There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform.
Guards dress for duty in front of a
full-length mirror.
The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone nor
watch TV.
All off duty time is spent studying the
175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
A guard must memorize who they are and
where they are interred. Among the notables are:
President Taft,
Joe Lewis {the boxer}
Medal of Honor winner Audie L. Murphy, the most
decorated soldier of WWII and of Hollywood fame.
Every guard spends five hours a day getting his uniforms ready
for guard duty.
In 2003 as Hurricane Isabelle was approaching Washington, DC,
our US Senate/House took 2 days off with
anticipation of the storm.
On the ABC evening news, it was reported
that because of the dangers from the
hurricane, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the
Tomb of
the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment.
respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!" Soaked to the skin,
>marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that
the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor that
can be
afforded to a serviceperson. The tomb has been patrolled continuously,
24/7, since 1930.
